Kelham Hall Wedding Photography | A&M

Today we attended the wedding of Amy and Matt over at Kelham Hall, Nottinghamshire, near Newark.  An impressive venue for sure.  It is beautiful both inside and out,  with lots of gothic arches and ornately decorated rooms, not to mention the vast, domed ceiling room capable of seating over one thousand guests!  We visited the venue earlier in the week to make our plan of action for the day itself and found Kelham Hall host to this year’s Miss England final.  There was a hive of activity with TV camera crews and lots of reporters from the nations press agencies present.

On the day of the wedding, it started with beautiful sunshine and the blue skies we have become accustomed to this summer, but by lunchtime and Amy’s arrival at St Wilfreds Church it started to rain, heavily, and continued to do so for the remainder of the day.  It did ease slightly in the early evening and we managed to get some outdoor portraits for the happy couple before it once again returned to rain.

It was such a lovely ceremony in the quaint Church, situated on the estate and only a short walk from the Hall, where family and friends gathered to witness the happy occasion.  Following the drinks reception, dinner was served in a beautifully decorated room filled with so much character.  It was a large space, but still achieved that level of intimacy that wedding parties require to create that feeling of togetherness.  Following dinner and the speeches, there were lots of giant sparklers to enjoy before dancing the night away.
